Barend van Liempd - Program Manager RADAR - imec
Barend van Liempd (S’08–M’11) received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology, Eindhoven, The Netherlands, in 2009 and 2011, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Brussels, Belgium, in 2017, in collaboration with imec, Leuven, Belgium. His Ph.D. dissertation concerned tunable, highly integrated RF front-end circuits and modules in SOI CMOS.
In 2011, he joined imec, where he was an Research and Development Engineer on multi-standard transceivers, until 2014, and became a Ph.D. Researcher and a Senior Researcher in 2017. Recently, he was appointed Program Manager Radar, and now leads imec’s radar R&D activities. He has authored or co-authored over 40 papers, patents, and patent applications. His research interests are analog, RF, and millimeter-wave circuits for wireless and sensing applications. Dr. van Liempd was a recipient of the 2015 NXP Prize at the European Microwave IC conference.
